The diagrams illustrate the modifications that occurred at Queen Mary Hospital since it was build up in the year 1960. Overall it can be discerned that the hospital’s main building remained untouched, while the surrounding structures were modified over the years.
First in 1960, the hospital was located by the main road next to the shopping centre. Behind the hospital, there was a car park. Beside the car park a farmland could be found.
Later in 1980, the shopping centre was demolished and instead two buildings were raised one of them is a cancer centre and the other was a pharmacy adjoining the hospital. The car park stayed in its previous location, whereas, the farmland was transformed into a nursing school.
Finally in 2000,while the hospital and pharmacy remained untampered with, most of the surrounding buildings were altered. The cancer centre expanded to include the area where the nursing school once stood, forcing the space that was serving as parking area to decrease in size in order to accommodate the nursing school.
‘One of them is a cancer centre’ two mistakes them is always with persons and not objects, was not is. Rest is fine.
Nowadays, school comprise the majority of the children’s day. Undoubtedly, teachers have a great impact on the pupils’ growth and development. However, I would not claim that it surpasses the parental influence on their own children.
To begin, spending around eight hours, five days a week for several months with a certain individual would most definitely affect the behavior of a person. This is true for adults, but what about the young generation? This amount of time spent with one person would result in even more affection especially that their characters are still developing, their thoughts being created and their personalities being built, they resemble a mould that is being shaped. For this reason I believe that for a person to chose to be a teacher he has to learn to be as neutral as possible when communicating with the youngsters and be accommodating to all of their backgrounds and cultures.
On the other hand, the teachers’ role does not present until later in life. Scientists claim that the first five years of a child’s life are the most critical ones and that is when most of the person’s personality develops. Therefore, throughout those five years, these kids spend all their time with their parents and they do all sorts of activities together. Needless to say most of the children’s perception of the world comes from observing their parents’ interactions, therefore, parents are actually nurturing their kids without even realizing it.
To conclude, I believe that teachers have a great influence on the development of the children, although the parents’ impact can not be outshined. However, parents must constantly remind their little ones of their values and what they stand for in order for their children to never succumb to any external ideas or pressure.

In 1980, the main street, hospital building and car park remained constant, while the shopping centre was demolished for a cancer center and pharmacy, which the latter was attached to the hospital and the farmland was destroyed for a nursing school.
However , in 2000, the entrances of the pharmacy and hospital were extended into the main road, cancer centre was enlarged to cover all the space of the nursing school and the size of the car park was divided into two, which one was used for the nursing school and the other for car park.
‘adjacent the hospital’, adjacent to the hospital. ‘hospital building and car park remained constant’ instead of constant write remained unchanged. Overall a very good attempt. Please watch our tutorial on the same task and try to make more improvements.
